A life of writing, a love of writing

In the same way a moth is drawn to the light, I cannot resist the call of the word.

Ever since my first piece of prose appeared in the school magazine when I was eight years old, my insatiable desire to explore, and an unquenchable inquisitive nature means my passion for writing has never dulled.

I have written for local and national magazines, online and hard copy, including The Nursing Standard, Somerset Life and Scholastic; covering a range of topics including left handedness, lip reading, Linda McCartney’s memorial garden, and historic houses. My research into a war article, led me to discover the life story of a soldier who was one of the first to die from mustard gas poisoning in the Great War.

I have also ru
n creative writing workshops, author readings and given presentations to primary and secondary school pupils.

My work has allowed me into the lives and homes of people, uncovering long-forgotten memories and hidden secrets.

With a blend of rural and urban life, bright lights and sleepy coves, the energy and clamour mixed with the calm and harmonious that I have experienced over the years, gives me a vision that goes beyond the obvious and propels my desire to create a world where the reader can escape the here and now.
